With record-setting team and individual performances, ETSU’s Kaena Apana was named Atlantic Sun Player of the Week by the conference office.
Apana set a conference record for digs and helped the Lady Bucs set a team league mark in digs and a school record win-streak.
ETSU has amassed 11 straight wins this season and is undefeated in the A-Sun. Over the weekend, The Lady Bucs upset league favorite Belmont in a five-game match, coming back from a two-game deficit. Apana recorded 29 digs in the match.
In the sweep of Lipscomb, Apana recorded 31 digs, a new record for a three-game conference match.
She averaged 7.50 digs per game over eight games. As a team, the Lady Bucs also set a record for digs in the same category with 84.
The Waianae, Hawaii native is currently second in the league, averaging 5.60 digs per game and is majoring in interdisciplinary studies.
The Lady Bucs take to the road, completing their conference schedule with visits to Stetson and Mercer in the coming week.
ETSU challenges Stetson Oct. 27 at 7 p.m. in DeLand, Fla, and wraps up A-Sun play against Mercer at 2 p.m. on Oct. 29 in Macon, Ga.
