Dear Editor,
“Research has shown that men and women engaging in homosexual affiliations are at a significantly higher risk for some forms of emotional problems, including suicidal tendencies, major depression, anxiety disorders and conduct disorders.” These sorts of problems tend to arise when someone is hiding their homosexuality and trying to conform to heterosexual society around them. Organized religion is one of the culprits here.
Most of the well-adjusted GLBT folks I’ve known and dealt with over the past 30 years rarely suffer from these problems anymore than heterosexuals. I’m not sure how correct his stats are for anal cancer, since anal sex is not practiced by every gay male. Though I also find it amusing that nature placed the prostate gland which when massaged produces highly sensual pleasure and to get there you must go through the anus which has many pleasure inducing nerve endings similar to ones found on the head of the penis.
As for bringing children into the world, I know more than a few heterosexual couples who are childless due to infertility of either the man or the woman or just plain old age. Should they not be allowed to wed either? As for natural, as in not occurring in nature, perhaps Adams should check out the Oslo Museum of Natural History in Norway for their exhibits of over 500 of some 1,500 in total, displaying homosexual activity. Maybe read the columns section on radiogay.ca to get some sort of insight before you go espousing your rather uneducated opinions.
I am also well aware, opinions are like a**holes … everyone has one … including me. Back to you, Joel.
