This is to Tommy Birchfield, the voice of the homeless and those who “speak out for those who cannot and speak out for America . because no one can see well through their tears.” I am not sure what that sentence means, but Tommy seems to believe it.
Evil Republicans are to blame. Tommy, Tommy, Tommy . you are ill informed. “Thousands of homeless roam the street on any given day in America.” Really? And how many roamed the streets during the Clinton presidency? I can tell you because I lived in Washington, D.C., throughout the Clinton years – thousands. More or less they are the same type of ‘homeless,’ too. Some are mentally ill people that cannot (or will not) take their medications or go to the housing provided by the government or private charities. Most actually have homes they go to after a long day of panhandling. You can pretend this does not happen, but I know it does.
Tommy, the truth will be hard to grasp for you, but Republicans have not kicked people out of their houses and forced them into the streets to live in refrigerator boxes and eat out of dumpsters.
Actually, the Bush administration has seen an explosive increase in private home ownership (as well as entrepreneurship, wage increases and employment at 94.5 percent), meaning more people own their own property for the first time in the history of America. Evil Republicans even made it easier for record numbers of minorities to become first-time homeowners.
I have a question for Tommy, too. How far will you go to give them shelter? How many ‘homeless’ people do you invite to share your room with you? Do you leave your car unlocked so they can sleep in it? Do you provide them Kleenex for their ‘tears?’ And why can’t they speak (except to preach at traffic or ask for money)? That is why I give to the United Way.
