I appreciate the research that Mr. McConnell did to write his article “Re-examining Scriptures.” It is very detailed and is seemingly flawless in its content, but only to the unaided eye. I will try not to bore you with confusing details but hopefully I can shed some light upon a touchy subject.
Throughout the Bible homosexuality is never condoned, not once. From the beginning of time men and women were uniquely made for each other and it is obviously the only way the human race can reproduce and continue. If you read beyond 1 Corinthians 6:9-10, Paul further addresses what he is talking about. Starting in verse 12 Paul writes “Everything is permissible for me” –but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me”-but I will not be mastered by anything.” Here Paul is quoting those in the Corinthian congregation who boasted they had a right to do anything they pleased.
At the end of verse 13 Paul also states “The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lords.” It is important to remember that one may become enslaved by those particular actions in which one “freely” chooses. It has always been accepted by theologians for thousands of years that homosexuality is forbidden, but now that secular humanism is spreading rapidly throughout universities you get liberal theologians claiming to know what Paul was actually trying to say (as well as that theologians have been dead wrong for the past two centuries) and it has deceived nearly a whole generation.
I want to close with one last point. If homosexuality is not a sin, why was Sodom and Gomorrah (which was full of sexual perversion) destroyed? God told Abraham to find just ten righteous people in the city, yet Abraham could not even find that small amount! Our bodies bear the image of God. “Then [Christ] said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s; and to God the things that are God’s.” Matthew 22:21.-Ryan Mills
