Area photographers Shawne Brown and Kevin Thrasher have had work included in a multi-month exhibit at the Atlanta Photography Group and Gallery located in the Tula Art Center.
Brown, of Johnson City, and Thrasher, of Elizabethton, are graduates of the photography program in the Department of Art and Design in ETSU’s College of Arts and Sciences.
The Atlanta Photography Group’s “Out of the South.” is a survey of contemporary works by eight photographers currently living in the American South.
Exhibit organizers “sought to find the strongest photographic work of any type being done by regional photographers. With her selections juror Diana Edkins has assembled a diverse array of talent whose efforts include scenes from Cuba, documentary photo collages, and invented photographic realities.”
Edkins is director of exhibitions and limited edition photographs at the Aperture Foundation. The Atlanta exhibit closed Saturday.
