Ronald Ulen, baritone, and Sin-Hsing Tsai, piano, will perform in “Po_me d’un Jour,” a Guest Artist Recital, at ETSU’s Mathes Hall, on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
Ulen and Tsai, both on the music faculty at the University of Tennessee-Chattanooga, will perform selections by Stradella, Scarlatti, Faure, Schubert, Britten, Johnson and Schoenberg.
Ulen has performed on the opera and concert stages of major cities all over the world, as well as in 37 states. During the course of his long and distinguished opera career, he has sung over 85 leading roles in nearly 2,000 performances. He has also been a soloist in numerous concert works, such as Mendelssohn’s “Elijah,” Beethoven’s “Ninth Symphony” and Brahms’ “Requiem.”
Tsai has played on three continents and collaborated with many prominent musicians on both sides of the Atlantic. She has often been praised for her expressive and consistently fine performances of a wide variety of music, both as a soloist and collaborator.
