Dear Editor,
I have a question for you. I was puzzled to see the sports page in the Feb. 25 issue.
The headline read, “Strong leads Bucs on senior night.”
There was a picture.
Well, that’s good news, of course, and congratulations to Mr. Strong.
Below the fold, in smaller type was a second headline:
“Lady Bucs beat Campbell to stay in first place.”
We’re the top team in the A-Sun right now – that’s really terrific.
Or don’t you think so?
My question is this: why isn’t our women’s team – leading the conference and having the best season ever – bigger news than senior night for the men?
It is certainly more exciting this year.
In case you are wondering, I have cheered for and supported the men, and was very excited when they were champions.
They deserved the accolades.
However, this year, it’s the Lady Bucs’ turn to get bigger headlines, more recognition, more excitement and more news coverage.
Let them have their due. Go Lady Bucs.
