March 17-21 is Sunshine Week in Tennessee. The Sunshine Law allows the public to be informed of the government’s activities, and to view many types of documents.
On Tuesday there will be a panel discussion in Warf-Pickel room 513 at 6:00 p.m. The panelists will be Stephanie McClellan, city editor of Kingsport Times-News, Buzz Trexler, managing editor of The Maryville Daily Times, Mark Stevens, publisher Erwin Record, Stan Widener,
Johnson City judge.
The Society of Professional Journalists will be handing out fliers and a copy of the current Sunshine Law on Wednesday.
