Dear Editor,
After reading letters complaining about trash outside the Sigma Alpha Epsilon house and how they cannot say they are “true gentlemen” because they don’t recycle (which is no one’s business whether they do or not), I felt it was necessary for me to shed some light on those who don’t know the gentlemen well.
For an individual to attack one of the most community service active fraternities on campus over their trash is absolutely ridiculous! SAE’s trash is really no one else’s business but theirs and to try and exploit them and defame their character and what they stand for shows one’s insecurity of their own faults.
Yes, maybe they should recycle but at least they have their trash out in the proper spot, in bins and in trash bags. I live down the street from them and I’ve never walked past their house and seen their trash in other yards nor in their own.
SAE has never had complaints from their neighbors, nor did they seek revenge when their mailbox was smashed multiple times over the course of a few weeks. Being the true gentlemen they are, they didn’t even act like a typical “frat boy” when students from “upper class” apartments acted like freshman by throwing glass alcohol bottles into the driveway from their balconies, they cleaned it up as soon as it happened and did not throw bottles back.
If complaining about someone else’s trash makes you happy, maybe one should take up a hobby and the next time you have a problem with someone’s “bad habits” as you make it out to seem, you should realize that when you point your finger at someone, you have three other fingers pointing right back at you.
