On August 25, ETSU athletics announced that Lauren Aksionoff would be joining the Buccaneer community as the associate athletic director for academic services and senior woman administrator.
Prior to working at ETSU, Aksionoff spent the last seven years working at Stony Brook University, where she helped students earn the highest departmental grade point average for four straight seasons.
While working at Stony Brook, Aksionoff worked closely with all athletic departments and managed to move from an academic advisor role to the director of academic services in just three years.
Her experience motivating and guiding young men and women has allowed Aksionoff to uncover new opportunities in other places.
For Aksionoff, the journey to East Tennessee is just another chance to continue to grow as a mentor.
“ETSU and the athletic department are committed to academic excellence and providing holistic development for the students during their collegiate career and beyond,” Aksionoff said.
