ETSU’s Office of Professional Development will host a Renaissance Child Super Saturday Enrichment event, which will provide children the opportunity to learn about various sciences through hands-on activities.

The event will be spread across three Saturdays: March 20, April 24 and May 15 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m.. Each day will focus on a different aspect of science for children to learn about.

I think this is a great opportunity to get young ones involved with science. Children learn by doing, and the hands-on approach is sure to be a big hit for children and parents alike. The atmosphere will follow the guidelines of both the university and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and all science experiments will be safe for children of all ages and involve close adult supervision.

With different focuses at each event, the kids will have a chance to develop their interest and desire to learn more about nature and the world around them. I think it is also important to expose young ones to a variety of different interests and let them know that they can make a career out of that one day if they so choose.

I am of the opinion that exposing children to ideas for what they can do as a career is a great thing to do from an early age. Having a career is inevitable for most people, and while we should still let children be children, I think that it is important to show them how to develop interests through different hobbies that allow them to focus in on something that they might like to do for the rest of their lives.

Many little boys have dreams of becoming astronauts. With the diversity and inclusion offered by these events, little girls can realize that it can be their dream, too.
