Times are changing on campus, and so are ideas. The Student Government Association hosted a meeting to discuss how collaborative ideas unite our campus.

Mason Mosier, the president of the Student Government Association, invited leaders of many different organizations to attend the meeting.

“This committee will be called the Collaboration Initiative,” Mosier said. “We are going to be unified as one campus community.”

The Collaboration Initiative meeting had a great turnout, with many different organizations attending. There will be more meetings throughout the semester with leadership representatives.

“We are going to find a time and place to meet frequently in the following semester. We may have to move somewhere outside because the organization leader population today was amazing.” Mosier said.

Mosier is passionate about aligning different organizations together and working for the greater good, which means funding smaller organizations for a successful future.

“There are many student organizations here that have many few members and need funding,” Mosier said. “With this project the smaller organizations will be noticed.”

With smaller organizations entering the Collaboration Initiative, the Buc Fund will be put in place to help organizations plan events in the future.

“We want to encourage every student organization to apply for the Buc Fund. Whatever your organization needs we will help you with anything you need,” Mosier said.

The growth of student organizations is crucial to the Student Government Association, and forming the Collaborative Initiative, is vital to make involvement happen for new and returning students. New clubs are forming, and with more campus population, those clubs will soon grow to thrive in the normal school year ahead.

Mosier is excited to launch this subcommittee and has an optimistic outlook for campus in the future. He closed the meeting with reassurance that any student organization will be taken care of.
