As part of Bucky’s Big Top Carnival, “Glow Night with Light Up Guy” will be taking place at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 4.

Brendon Tiggs, also known as Light Up Guy, said he prefers to call the event “Cyberfunk.”

“The music that I’m going to be playing is a little bit like funky, jazzy, kind of upbeat songs,” said Tiggs.

The music, coupled with stylized lighting and visual decor, is meant to create a futuristic aesthetic for the event. Tiggs, who creates his own “light up” apparel and accessories, has been hard at work on his costume for the evening. Some pieces being debuted at Cyberfunk have been under construction for over a year.

“I have created something new that I haven’t premiered yet,” said Tiggs. “Going all out.”

Tiggs has curated the playlists for the event, going so far as to create his own remixes and mashups of popular songs. Additionally, he created custom transitional audio segments.

“I actually made it into more kind of a radio vibe,” said Tiggs.

The segments are meant to emulate a radio DJ to give the soundtrack a live feeling.

“There’s a game called ‘Red Light, Green Light,’ which is popular since ‘Squid Game’ has happened. It’s basically going to be a ‘don’t sing, don’t dance’ challenge,” said Tiggs.

Tiggs plans to challenge the participants of the event by playing the most popular, catchy, dancy songs on the playlist and daring them to stay completely still and quiet for the duration.

“The best part is it’s on a Thursday. So, Throwback Thursday, nostalgia feeling, combined into one,” continued Tiggs.

Two other performers will be alongside Tiggs for the event, the first of which will be traveling a long way.

“He comes all the way from Japan. His name is Akira. We’ve been collaborating together since, really, freshman year,” continued Tiggs, who is now a senior.

Another performer, Kasper, who Tiggs describes as “TikTok famous,” will be performing at Glow Night as well.

“He’s been taking care of me since my sophomore year, and he’s also been a dance leader for me,” said Tiggs.

The glow party will take place at The Cave and starts at 8:30 p.m.
