“We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.” – Bob Ross

On Feb. 24, Tradition Keepers hosted their annual Bob Ross Painting night in the Cave.

Students were told to come with a positive mindset and their art skills to watch a Bob Ross painting video and create their own masterpieces. This year was their fourth annual hosting of the Bob Ross event, with it being held during the COVID-19 pandemic last year with social distancing and masks.

Bob Ross was an American painter and art instructor who was the host of “The Joy of Painting,” which was an instructional television program on PBS in the United States and CBC in Canada. While Bob Ross has passed on now, his art and television show still live on in reruns and people watching to recreate his masterpieces.

This event was open to everyone, but priority was given to those who reserved a spot. The event was full, which shows that campus is attempting to return to a normal state as the pandemic seems to be slowing down at the moment.

The event also featured Lauren Glass, a speaker for rpl. University. Rpl. University is an app designed to help college students get in contact with professionals all across the United States who can help students with finding a career path. This can also help students to find a mentor for their confirmed career field and learn how to create connections and network for the job they desire.

The ETSU Tradition Keepers help engage students to enforce their bond with their university and keep up their school spirit. This club also helps to create mentor relationships between students and alumni who were once a student on campus as well.
