On April 12, Buctainment partnered with the ETSU EcoNuts to create an eco-scavenger hunt promoting sustainable and environmentally friendly aspects of ETSU’s campus.

There were 16 different locations that needed to be found by four different teams with a total of 12 people on each team.

“Teams were given some questions and riddles for them [students] to figure out and answer,” said Ezra Nichols, Buctainment’s records and budget chair and lead coordinator for this event. “They could get extra points by going to various locations on campus and taking pictures of them. Places such as the CPA, recycling center and library were some of the answers.”

This event was an opportunity for students to expand their knowledge about the surrounding ecosystem and what we as students can do to continue making ETSU’s campus beautiful and clean.

“EcoNuts and Buctainment wanted to host an event together that would get people outside and give them a chance to learn about our campus and how it can be eco-friendly,” Nichols said.

Her favorite aspect of the event was “learning about the campus. I had no idea we had gardens on campus, and some ‘Buctainers’ didn’t know there were solar panels on the CPA and library.”

Lastly, Nichols would like to add, “We are always learning what events people want on campus and how to improve them. We would love to hear feedback from more people about what they want us to bring for them!”
