The Murders of Maggie, “Margaret,” and Paul Murdaugh have been of high concern to people throughout the state of South Carolina for close to a year.

However, on July 14, 2022, Alec Murdaugh, husband of Maggie and father of Paul, was indicted on two counts of murder by a grand jury. Though, it is important to add, his lawyers deny these charges and proclaim that South Carolina law enforcement and the attorney general of South Carolina have a vendetta against Alec Murdaugh according to NBC News.

Alec is a former lawyer, who was disbarred in July of this year by the South Carolina Supreme Court for having 84 criminal charges against for crimes committed while a lawyer.

In April of 2022, it became evident that Maggie was lured to their hunting-lodge home, named Moselle, by Alec Murdaugh according to FITSNews. What this tells us is that the murder of Maggie Murdaugh was planned.

His son, Paul, came to the Moselle property as well. In the 911 call, which has been publicly released by the state of South Carolina, you can hear Alec Murdaugh sounding distraught, disorganized and frantic. What you can also hear is the faint whispers of Alec Murdaugh. One of which sounds almost like him saying, “Why’d you have to get involved, Paul.”

This 911 tape is online, and you can listen for yourself. Although, it is important to note, this call is horrific. I recommend not listening if you are not able to handle it.

While everyone is innocent until proven guilty, there is a mountain of evidence piling up against Alec. He faces several financial charges, charges related to his attempted suicide plot and now murder charges. The mountain of personal lawsuits is continuing to pile on top of one another as well.

It is said by Alec’s own lawyers that he would like to invoke his right for a speedy trial and face a jury in October, so it is hopeful that South Carolina will be able to bring justice for Maggie and Paul later this year.
