The ETSU women’s golf team traveled to Tallahassee to compete in the Florida State Match Up at the Seminole Legacy Golf Club. This was a three-day event spanning from March 17 to March 19. The Lady Bucs finished in 10th place (+79) while Florida State won the tournament with a team score of even-par 864. 

On the first day of play, the Bucs found themselves trailing Florida State by 24 strokes and finishing with a score of 23-over-par 311. This put the team in eighth place and 16 strokes better than Southern Conference opponent Mercer. Amber Thornton (Canberra, Australia) was the leader for ETSU as she tied for 27thsitting at 4-over-par 76. 

On Saturday, round two began as ETSU shot a score of 22-over-par 310 on the day. Notre Dame jumped from ninth place to being tied with ETSU in eighth place at the end of day two in Tallahassee with an overall score of 45-over-par 621. Hollie Muse (Liverpool, England) led the Bucs after two days of play with a score of 153 and a second-round score of 76, tied for 30th overall. 

In the final day of play, the Bucs shot a +34 and finished the tournament in 10th place (+79). Florida State won the tournament posting a team score of even-par 864, winning by 25 shots. Augusta finished as the runner-up (+25) and Kentucky was third (+28). Muse finished the tournament tied for 42nd (+19), while Sophie Bert (Beurle, Belgium) and Thornton were not far behind. Bert finished in 44th (+20) while Thornton tied for 45th(+22). 

Florida State’s Lottie Woad finished at 4-under-par 212 to win the tournament by two shots over Tulane’s Carla Bernat who finished 2-under-par 214. 

ETSU will return to action beginning Sunday, April 2 as they will be playing in the Chattanooga Classic.
