The Johnson City Doughboys will play at home for their season opener against the Greeneville Flyboys on June 6.

The Doughboys entered the Appalachian League in 2020 as a collegiate summer baseball team. The Doughboys were previously known as the beloved Johnson City Cardinals, a rookie affiliate of the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Doughboys have recently released the roster and the coaching staff for the 2023 season.

The Doughboys have added Ryan Mossman as their hitting coach for this new season. Mossman is coming off his fourth season as a coach at Milligan College.

The team also named Wayne Riser, who has 650 NCAA wins under his belt, as the season’s hitting coach.

The Doughboys have added many East Tennessee locals to their roster this year. Brogan Beckner, a recent graduate of Dobyns-Bennett, takes a spot on the roster, as well as Cole Torbett, a recent graduate of Science Hill.

Family fun is something that the Doughboys prioritize in the TVA Credit Union Stadium. Because of this, the team was named the 2022 winner of the Appalachian League Promotional Award. This award is given to the club that demonstrates outstanding and creative marketing and promotional work.

TVA Credit Union Stadium and the Doughboys have participated in events such as Dollar Mondays, where attendees can enjoy select $1 concessions on Mondays, and Thirsty Thursdays, which involve $3 20 oz. draft beers.

Tickets for the Johnson City Doughboys are already on sale for the 2023 season. Ticket prices for games are available now for as low as $6. If you are looking for a way to spend a fun evening in Johnson City, visit the Doughboys’ website.
