The College Voter Registration Competition is rolling back around once again. Secretary of Tennessee, Tre Hargett, is calling all schools to join and be involved, but will ETSU be one of them?

On Aug. 30, Hargett released a statement regarding the 2023 College Voter Registration Competition. According to this press release, this invites two-year, four-year public and private colleges and universities all over Tennessee to participate. Since the launch of the College Voter Registration Competition in 2015, over 2,000 schools have participated.

Starting Sept. 1,  colleges and universities can register, which allows them to earn points for their school. Since this is National Voter Registration Month, this gives students the opportunity to let their voices be heard and allows them to become more involved when it comes to their rights.

With great effort, ETSU was able to win the 2022 campaign. By winning “Best Social Media” campaign, ETSU has proven how easy it is to vote, so easy that you can do it from your couch. With the success of last year’s campaign, students all over campus were voting and changing their future one vote at a time.

For being the most engaged campus in 2022, ETSU student involvement showcased their outstanding efforts to ensure their votes matter.  The question is will ETSU participate in the 2023 College Voter Registration Competition? Is there a chance that ETSU can bring in another win during the college competition? With uncertainty, it is still up in the air regarding whether ETSU Votes is participating in this 2023 college campaign. As the month-long competition transpires, there is hope that ETSU has a game plan to get students on campus involved and ready to take action.
