Does the spring semester put you in a bad mood? Tennessee weather is up and down. Assignments keep piling up and it’s hard to find whimsy. Not to worry, this recipe should cheer you up. It takes less than 15 minutes to prepare and only requires three ingredients. This recipe is perfect for sharing and serves around 4 cups.
This recipe only needs three ingredients: seedless grapes, citric juice, and powdery flavoring. Red or green seedless grapes will work. Lemon, lime, or both juices are perfect. For the powdery flavoring, there are plenty of options that include Jello/gelatin packet, granulated sugar, drink mix, and much more. For my recipe, I chose green seedless grapes, lemon and lime juice, and a packet of lime gelatin.
The cookware necessary is two bowls with lids, a knife, and a plate. A hand citrus squeezer could be helpful but is not required.
To start, you will wash the grapes, lemon, and lime. After washing the grapes, take them off the vine and place them into the bowl. The grapes should be dried with a paper towel. Then, cut the lemon and lime into halves or wedges to squeeze the juice into the bowl of grapes. You will shake the bowl thoroughly to coat all the grapes in the juice and let them rest for at least 10 minutes. Afterwards, you will move your grapes to a new, dry bowl. Afterwards, you will completely coat your grapes with the powdery flavoring of your choice. I chose to use lime gelatin for a sour treat. Once fully coated, you will move the grapes to a plate to freeze. As the grapes are freezing, clean up any dishes and throw away trash.
And ta da, you have frozen candied grapes. Whether it’s cold or warm, this sweet treat is enjoyable even during Tennessee’s weather. The best way to store these candied grapes is in the freezer and only take them out when you want to eat them. Remember, it’s okay to take a break every now and then to enjoy a sweet treat.
