With the fall semester halfway finished, SGA has been hard at work to achieve bettering student life and campus for everyone.

It has been a successful semester thus far for SGA. Accomplishments include providing shuttle buses for game days to students and the community, Chick-fil-A meal swipes and allowing RA’s free summer access to the CPA. These are only a few campaign promises that SGA has fulfilled.

“These accomplishments are a testament to the dedication and hard work of our team and our commitment to making ETSU a better place for all students,” said SGA President, Trent White.

Meanwhile, there are still some plans that will be in effect as the school year continues. Legislation has had some impact on SGA and has played an important role. Legislation has passed some resolutions and documents that aid in improving the school. Academic policies such as a syllabus policy and designated study days have been in the works. Legislation has also called out to pave the gravel parking lot by the Thomas Baseball Stadium, making it more accessible. SGA Vice President, Brooke Patterson, played a major role in accommodating the game day shuttles for students.

“Legislation and resolutions are powerful tools that allow us to shape policies, advocate for change and create a more inclusive and beneficial environment for the ETSU student community,” stated White.

Looking ahead, plans for the 2024 spring concert have started. Looking through different artists and trying to narrow it down, SGA is eager to send out the poll for students soon. As for construction on campus and the events of the beloved Pride Walk, SGA is still working hard to find and provide a dedicated spot for the future of the Pride Walk. White, alongside SGA, is trying to ensure that this cherished tradition and piece of culture will live on forever.

“SGA is putting forth every effort, working tirelessly day and night, to ensure the preservation of this cherished tradition. We are determined to uphold the legacy of the Pride Walk, and we will keep our students’ interests at the forefront of our endeavors,” stated White.
