In his inaugural season as the new head coach of the Bucs, Tre Lamb continues to impress as he adds 15 more players to his already stacked 2024-2025 season roster.

Of this new class, two are transfers from other respected universities, Devontae Houston (UConn) and Derrell Bailey Jr. (South Florida), while the thirteen remaining players are coming to Johnson City fresh out of high school.

Two of this February’s signing class come from just down the way, Mason Ball (Elizabethton HS) and Jayson Graham (Clinton HS) in Jonesborough.  In his tenure at Elizabethton, Ball was a four-year starter, 4A Defensive Player of the Year, and TNFCA Defensive Player of the Year as a defensive lineman. On the other side, Jayson Graham played defensive back at Clinton where he recorded 148 tackles and eight interceptions during his career earning him recognition for all-region and two-time first team all conference accolades. Former NFL player and ETSU special teams and tight end coach Jay Graham is his father.

Ten of the new faces yet to be mentioned come to town to help build on Lamb’s already impressive offensive staff. Izay Bridges (WR), Connor Doeren (OL), Mitchell Dunlap (OL/LS), Baylor Hayes (QB), Jack Hood (OL), Devin Ingram (RB), Vashawn Nalls (TE), Javon Richardson (WR) and Franklin West (OL). All 10 players mentioned come to ETSU as true freshman in hopes to get the Bucs back on top of the Southern Conference.

On the defensive side of the ball, Lamb added three true freshmen that he hopes will build on what many Buc fans will agree was a struggling defense in the 2023 season. Andrew Hand (DB) and Jaden Pierce (DL) will join the team this fall in a valiant effort to do so.

During his press release in early February, Coach Lamb said, “We addressed a lot of different positions. I am really proud of our staff, the administration and entire university for the work that has been done during these two recruiting periods.”

The Buccaneer football program looks to reclaim their spot on top of the SoCon conference this fall under the reigns of Tre Lamb.
