This past Monday, with the 4-3 victory over Furman, ETSU advances to 6-0 in SoCon. Following this victory, the men’s tennis team moves back to .500 and sits with a record of 9-9. The Bucs will visit The Citadel on Wednesday for their last regular season game.

The top three singles matches proceeded in the following order: 1. Elijah Poritzky (FUR) lost to Dimitri Badra (ETSU) 1-6, 7-6 (7-5), 4-0. 2. Milledge Cossu (ETSU) lost against Thomas Kennedy (FUR) 6-4, 6-1. 3. Emil Westling (FUR) lost to Peter Kalocsai (ETSU) 6-3, 6-3.

The three doubles matches proceeded in the following order: 1. Elijah Poritzky and Thomas Kennedy (FUR) lost to Milledge Cossu and Francisco Lamas (ETSU) 6-3 2. Dimitri Badra and Adam Nagoudi (ETSU) fell to Ben Cahill and Emil Westling (FUR) 7–5. 3. Pedro Cressoni and Alberto Garcia (ETSU) lost to Cole Burnam and Alex Han (FUR) 7-6 (7-1).

Historically the Buccaneers have been phenomenal against Furman when it comes to men’s tennis, winning their previous 17 matchups against the Paladins. East Tennessee State hasn’t lost to Furman since 2002. The Bucs continued to show greatness in this matchup improving their win streak against the Paladins to 18, their streak dating all the way back to 2003.

Overall this was a really great matchup for ETSU to have. This matchup should have our Buccaneers energized and confident for their upcoming matchup.

The Bucs are proud to be 6-0 in SoCon, and look forward to visit The Citadel with the chance of improving their record to 10-9 on the regular season. The Bucs have never lost to The Citadel and are excited for the matchup, currently sitting at 20-0 against them.
