The ETSU men’s tennis team sent its senior class out in style on Friday with a 4-3 victory over the Chattanooga Mocs, improving their SoCon record to 5-0 on the season and their overall record to 8-9.

Friday’s matchup was nothing short of dual as the match came down to the final sets, prevailing the Bucs to their eighth win of the season. Pedro Cressoni (Sao Paulo, Brazil) decided the Bucs fate in the fourth singles match outlasting the Mocs Ryan Mudre in three sets, 7-6, 5-7, 6-4.

Singles competition also saw a split between the three sets, with both ETSU and Chattanooga claiming three a piece. Dimitri Badra (Maracay, Venezuela) and Francisco Lamas (Maracay, Venezuela) respectively winning their singles matchups as well.

Dimitri Badra and his doubles partner Adam Nagoudi (Tunis, Tunisia) also made quick work of their competition on Friday picking up the victory in their match 6-4.

With the win against Chattanooga on Friday, the Bucs improve their record to 14-1 out of their last fifteen matchups with their longtime in state rival.

The ETSU men’s tennis will return to action on Monday as they continue conference play when they travel to Greenville, South Carolina to take on the Furman Paladins.

With a win on Monday, the Bucs will guarantee themselves at least a share of the regular season conference title.
