For the second straight year, former ETSU All-American Adrian Meronk is set to tee off at the 2024 Masters Tournament in Augusta at the Augusta National Golf Club. Meronk was apart of the ETSU men’s golf team from 2012 to 2016 and made his debut in the Masters in 2023.
Since leaving Johnson City and going pro, Meronk has had some success during his run in the European Tour, winning the Irish Open in 2022, the Australian Open in 2023, the Italian open in 2023 as well as the Andalucia Masters in 2023. In January of 2023, Meronk was awarded the Seve Ballesteros Award after he was voted Player of the Year by his peers on the DP World Tour.
Meronk recently rapped up his stent at the 2024 Masters that took place in Augusta, Georgia from April 11-14. During the tournament, Meronk missed the cut shooting fourteen over par through the first eighteen holes. During this years masters, Meronk only shot for par six times and collected two birdies on holes six and eight.
Meronk seemed to struggle to find the green this time around at the masters, as he collected bogeys on ten out the eighteen holes he played.
His round one scores, however, proved to be much more promising then round two. Round one saw Meronk shoot for a total score of 78 with par being 72 putting him only six over par after round one. Round two is where he struggled the most, shooting for 80 with par being set at 72 putting his two day total at 14 over par and eliminating him from this years Masters.
The ETSU graduate might not have been successful at this years Masters, but Buccaneer golf fans and all of Poland hope to see Adrian Meronk return at next years Masters.
