Over the weekend, the ETSU women’s golf team would hit the road for a three-day tournament. Starting the SoCon tournament, competing against multiple teams, the Bucs were able to go 5-over-par 293, remaining two shots ahead of the Furman Paladins.

The Bucs excelled in the par-4 and 5 scoring, with the most pars (60) and 10 additional birdies. Grace Chin (Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia), tied for second at even par, 72.

Heading into the second day of action, ETSU women’s golf team strengthened its lead to double-digits at Moss Creek Golf Club. They surged ahead of Furman with a strong finish, shooting four-under on the last three holes. ETSU totaled 8-over 296 for the round, putting them at 13-over-par 589 for the tournament. Sophie Bert (Deurle, Belgium) and Bailey Dunstan (Samford) lead individually at even-par 144. Brianna Castaldi (Port Saint Lucie, Fla.) and Grace Chin maintain top-ten positions, while ETSU leads in par-4 scoring and birdies. The final round teed off Tuesday morning, with ETSU grouped with Furman and Samford.

On the final day of competition, The ETSU women’s golf team secured their second Southern Conference Championship in four years. They finished with a 2-over-par 290 in the final round, marking a wire-to-wire victory. Their three-round score of 879 ranks as the third-best in SoCon Championship history. Sophie Bert led the team, finishing two strokes behind Furman’s Anna Morgan for the individual title.

Brianna Castaldi’s 2-under 70 on the final day helped seal the title. ETSU’s victory earned them an automatic berth to the NCAA regionals. The field will be announced live on the Golf Channel.
