In preparation for the fall 2024 semester, students were invited to vote for the fall concert performers beginning April 29. The poll is open till the end of the week, allowing students to choose two out of the 23 listed rock and alternative performers.

Among the most popular performers being requested are Chappell Roan and Djo with some controversy spiraling around Panic at the Disco, since they are no longer a band.

For those not familiar, Djo is an alternative band best known for their lead singer Joe Keery aka “Stranger Things” character, Steve Harrington. The band didn’t gain traction until recently when their song “End of Beginning” went viral on TikTok.

Kayleigh Amstutz, best known under her stage name Chappell Roan, is a small-town singer and songwriter. Her music is reminiscent of a mixture of Lorde, Stevie Nicks and Lana Del Ray, and she uses her outlet to bring to life the hardships of her teenage years. Roan is admired among many of this generation due to her queer-positive attitude and confidence in who she truly is.

The SGA has presented well-known and lesser-known performers for students to choose from. With varying acts of popularity growing in the early 2000s and recently, the fall concert will be far from boring.  With artists such as The Script, Young the Giant, The Driver Era and Briston Maroney on the lineup, students are eager to discover the artist that will take stage for the fall 2024 concert.
