On April 13, the Noland family hosted the annual ETSU Egg Hunt in the University Commons, drawing nearly 500 attendees for a day of springtime festivities.
“Each year, I am inspired by the joy this event brings to our campus community,” said President Brian Noland. “The Egg Hunt is a chance to step away from our daily routines and celebrate together.”
The event featured live music, children’s crafts, refreshments and photo opportunities with the Easter Bunny. It was open to students, faculty, staff and their families.
Volunteers helped bring the event to life, including University School Cheerleaders, members of SGA, Facilities Management staff, Sodexo, University Events and University Marketing and Communications with the appearance of Bucky.
Live music was performed by the ETSU Bluegrass Pride Band, and the Department of Theatre and Dance helped with the Easter Bunny’s appearance.
Children took part in crafts, face painting, snacks and sidewalk chalk. The highlight of the afternoon was the egg hunt, “Judging by the rate of speed at which the kids ran onto the field to hunt for eggs,” said Noland.
The annual Egg Hunt began in 2012 when Noland joined the university. Since then, he and his family have hosted the event.
Noland shared that the event stands out among other seasonal celebrations because it centers around employees and their families.
“It is one of the few times when partners, children and loved ones all come to campus—getting the chance to meet one another, share in the fun and feel part of our university family,” Noland said. “That sense of connection across generations and beyond the workplace is what truly makes this event unique.”
As the spring semester comes to a close, President Noland is looking forward to Commencement on May 10.
“It is my favorite time of the year—a true celebration of our students’ hard work and accomplishments,” said Noland. “Seeing the pride on the faces of graduates and their families is one of the most rewarding experiences of working at a university.”
