ETSU student organizations have an incredible opportunity to win $1,000 for a charity they support by attending an ETSU basketball game at Freedom Hall. This initiative began Jan. 23 for the home game against The Citadel and will continue for the remaining home games until Feb. 25, when ETSU plays against Wofford College.
Eastman Credit Union is partnering with Hoops for Groups to give $1,000 to the charity supported by the organizations that show up and show out for the ETSU basketball team.
Hoops for Groups allows participating students to submit their attendance at the home games to stack points for their student organization. Toward the end of the game, a QR code will be displayed on the large video boards in Freedom Hall where students or community members can give their name, E-number and organization they want to support. The organization with the most members in attendance at each game will win the $1,000 to go toward their charity.
Students, faculty, staff and supporters are encouraged to fill out one submission per person for each game.
This competitive edge to attending one of the Buccaneers’ games adds even more excitement to ETSU’s thrilling matchups.
John Moore, assistant director of sales and promotions for ETSU, has been a main coordinator in bringing students and members of the Tri-Cities community to ETSU athletic events.
“We’re looking forward to it,” Moore said. “We want to definitely have students come on out, bring the energy.”
Home basketball games are known for their exciting giveaways, games and thrilling action on the court. Be there to support your organization, get a free T-shirt or support the Buccaneer team.
