The ETSU men’s golf team traveled to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, to play in the Tar Heel Intercollegiate tournament. Finishing their regular season strong, the team ended in 7th out of 16 teams. They faced a line up of UNC, Furman, Duke, Florida Atlantic, Gardner-Webb and many more.
This tournament’s roster included Oli Blackadder, Veigar Heidarsson, Yannick Malik, Richard Saunders and Gavin Tiernan. They received a first-round team score of 279(-1). Tiernan was the overall top individual scorer for ETSU with a total of 203 (-7). Following him was Saunders with 212 (+2) and Malik 215 (+5). Heidarsson finished with 216 (+6) and Blackadder was at 221 (+11).
While this game did mark their last regular tournament, these men are far from done as they plan to compete in the 2026 Southern Conference Championship on April 27-29. If you wish to go support the Bucs, come to Solina Golf Club in West Columbia, South Carolina.
The team that advances from the SoCon tournament will compete in the NCAA Regional May 18-20.
