On Sept. 19, the ETSU Women’s triathlon team took 4th out of 10 in the Beaver County Tri Cup. The meet was hosted by Duquesne and consisted of a 750-meter swim, 11.8 mile bike ride and 3.1 mile run. It was a draft legal sprint distance race. Highlights from the race include:
In the second event Taylor Walker led the team and recieved a time of 1:03:03.35.
Andie Psilopoulos received a 9:02 in the swim category landing in 13th overall.
Ninon Lapierre finished 25th with a time of 1:06:23.39 and following her Mia Remorca finished with a time of 1:06:26.80.
The last of three members Rapha Lima, Olivia Halfpap and Emily Jenkins, crossed the finishline within following 7 minutes.
While the team did overall place fourth they managed to secure third place among the D1 squads. There was an overall big gap between ETSU and their competitors as they managed to score 95 points and their next closest competitor was 130.
The team will continue to compete at the Navy Collegiate Cup in Maryland on Oct. 4.
