As fall arrives in Johnson City, East Tennessee State University students and community members have a weekly opportunity to gather for live music at Acoustic Autumn.
According to the city of Johnson City, Acoustic Autumn is a free outdoor live music series featuring local and regional musicians every Thursday evening in October. Held at Founders Park in downtown Johnson City, the series offers students and other community members a casual setting to enjoy live music during the fall.
For university students looking for budget-friendly activities off campus, the concerts are free and open to the public. The performances run from 6 to 7:30 p.m. every Thursday and feature a variety of musical genres throughout the month.
The October schedule features five acts: Brookwood on Oct. 1, Chancellor Lawson on Oct. 8, Elizabeth McCorvey on Oct. 15, Crawford & Power on Oct. 22 and The Twang Bangers on Oct. 29.
The Chancellor Lawson performance is part of “Acoustic Autumn x Chancellor Lawson (ETSU Night),” an ETSU-sponsored night during the series. The final performance is scheduled as a Halloween-themed night, with attendees encouraged to wear costumes.
Beyond the music, Acoustic Autumn offers ETSU students an opportunity to unwind without spending money on admission. The outdoor setting at Founders Park allows attendees to bring lawn chairs, blankets and picnic snacks for the evening.
Whether students are looking for a study break, a low-key night out with friends, an opportunity to attend the ETSU-sponsored night or a chance to support local and regional musicians, Acoustic Autumn offers a community event just minutes from campus throughout October.
