The ETSU women’s cross-country team traveled to Spartanburg, South Carolina, on Saturday, Oct. 17, to compete in the USC Upstate Invitational.
Coming off a third-place finish at the Louisville Cross Country Classic, where eight Buccaneers set personal bests, ETSU looked to build on its momentum.
Deena Ludtke led the Buccaneers, finishing 11th with a time of 17:41.5. The performance marked her second consecutive personal-best race and ranked as the 21st-fastest women’s 5K time in ETSU cross country history.
Mackenzie Armstrong followed with a 30th-place finish in 18:16.0, while Gracie Franklin placed 31st with a time of 18:19.4. Franklin also recorded her fastest time of the season.
Aubrey Jones rounded out the team’s scoring runners, finishing 33rd with a time of 18:20.7.
Four additional Buccaneers recorded personal-best times at the invitational.
