The ETSU track team saw strong performances from its distance and sprint teams at the Rod McCravy Memorial meet held on the campus of University of Kentucky this weekend.
Sophomore Joshua Hicks ran strong in the 800 meters for the Bucs finishing with a time of 1:57.77.
Senior Peter Dalton placed 10th in the mile with a time of 4:25.50.
Newcomer Jordan Ladd also competed in the 3000 meters and improved upon his best mark of the season with a 9:02.10 finish.
In the sprints, ETSU was represented by Johnny Tucker and Tyler Woodruff. Tucker placed seventh in the 200 meters with a time of 22.30, which places him currently in third place for the event. Woodruff also finished well with a mark of 22.96. The pair also competed in the 400 meters with times of 50.27 and 51.06 respectively.
Track and field will return home next weekend to host their second meet of the indoor season on Feb. 4 and 5.Mountaineer Winter Invitational
A small contingent of Buccaneers traveled across the mountains to compete at the Mountaineer Winter Invitational in Boone, N.C.
ETSU’s Michael Wright, Nathan Strickland and Adan Blevins took part in the evening’s events and gained further experience to carry with them in the season ahead.
Wright placed 10th in the 55 meter hurdles with a time of 8.25, while Strickland and Blevins finished sixth (12.74m) and ninth (12.52m), respectively, in the triple jump.
