On Feb. 4, a dance party was held for students with the idea that the student body would enjoy something new.

While Buctainment revisits its famous karaoke nights, this new event was formed through students’ actions and requests.

“While hosting karaoke nights, we had been noticing students getting up dancing to some songs and asking for a dance party,” said Morgan Colley, Buctainment’s special events chair. “We brought this idea for the students because the students asked for it. That is our main focus, bringing what students want.”

The music for the night was brought to the Cave by Main Street Music, with a turnout of around 80 people.

“I think for our first dance party this was a great turnout,” Colley said. “I loved watching the students interact with one another and just have fun.”

Not only were the students enjoying themselves, but so was the DJ, Caelan Peterson.

“Peterson really connected with the students as well, which also helped the students break out of their shell,” mentioned Colley.

Lastly, Colley stated, “Buctainment is currently working on something in partnership with ‘Party Bucs’ for an upcoming event in April.”

This event will be April 2, 2022, from 8 p.m.-10 p.m. There will be a big announcement pertaining to this event on the “PartyBucs” Instagram, so make sure you are following them (@partybucs) for the details.
