In celebration of Valentine’s Day, ETSU’s Letters of Love partnered with Buctainment to spread love through creative messages and candy grams. Participants could decorate a blank card or choose from ETSU-themed Valentines. Letters of Love Vice President Savanna Shaw designed Bucky, Pepper and President Noland themed cards. Stickers, markers and extra craft supplies were available for students who wanted to add extra flair to their valentines.
“It was really meaningful to create a space on campus where students could slow down, get a little creative and do something thoughtful for someone they care about,” said Peyton Gentry, president of Letters of Love.
Gentry sees Letters of Love as an important mission in today’s often divided world.
“It exists to remind people they are seen, loved and important,” she said. “Seeing people light up while making their cards made all the planning worth it.”
Coming off snow days and canceled classes, the event provided a great way for students to get back in the swing of things while having fun and caring for others.
“The turnout and energy were really special,” Gentry said.
Letters of Love continues to offer opportunities to spark connections and creativity.
“We aim to spread love and unity across our campus and community through something as simple but powerful as a handwritten note,” Gentry said. “A few kind words can go a long way in making someone feel seen and valued.”
