A big Welcome Back Bucs from Buctainment! Buctainment is a student organization at ETSU that hosts fun and free on-campus events for students. Buctainment has always hosted fun events for students to go to and get out of their shell, meet new people and do a fun activity on campus. They are welcoming to every student and encourage all students here at ETSU, freshman to senior, to take a look at their upcoming fall schedule and get involved. You won’t want to miss out!
Natalie Hogan, Buctainment’s weekly events chair, gave a brief summary of the events that will be hosted this fall semester such as, “Bingo, Build Your Own Terrarium Make-and-Take, Henna Tattoos and the guided painting class Masterpiece Meetups!”
Something new Buctainment is bringing this semester is a DIY/make-and-take combo of Rubber Ducky Soap! Hogan stated, “With our events, some of them are repeats from previous semesters and some are new that our members have come up with to bring something exciting to students.”
Hogan expressed, “Buctainment especially prides itself in hosting events that all students can attend for free to have fun, meet new friends and take a break from studying for classes.” Stepping out of your comfort zone to attend these events is an important way to enjoy all that our college has to offer!
There will be announcements all around campus and Buctainment’s social media accounts when an event is coming up. Students will be able to vote on two movies Buctainment has planned for later in the semester. Also, there will be a QR code used for feedback from students on any events they would like to see again!
Hogan included, “My favorite upcoming event and the one I am looking forward to the most is our ‘Student Org Fall Fest’. This event will be during Halloween, so I always look forward to the spooky season and seeing participants dress up in the spirit!” This is an event where student organizations will table and have giveaways and/or an activity for students to enjoy. There will be more information to come at a later date.
Lastly, Hogan would like to add, “Anyone is welcome to join the Buctainment team! Our weekly member meetings are Mondays at 5 p.m. in the Culp, room 210. I encourage everyone to give it a chance and see how rewarding it can be to bring events like these to campus!”
