The Buccaneers women’s golf team has spent the week in Colorado for the Golfweek Red Sky Classic, and as of Tuesday, Sept. 22, they are in 5th place in the contest.
The team makeup for this week’s contest is New Mexico State, Mercer, Miami, UNC Asheville, Northern Arizona, Ball State, Denver, Kansas, Cal-State Fullerton, Eastern Michigan, Louisiana State, Southern California, Texas A&M, Little Rock, Colorado, Louisiana-Monroe, Pepperdine, Arizona, and UC Irvine.
They finished Tuesday with a team score of 281, which is seven under par. A score that is one stroke behind the 4th place team, Pepperdine, and two strokes ahead of the 6th place team, Denver.
Leading the way for the Bucs is Buccaneer Sophomore, Sophia Gambini, who shot a score of 67, which is five under par and enough for a 4th place overall tie in the contest.
Joining Gambini in the top 10 is Arisa Piyamanit at 9th place with a score of 69.
Rounding out the top 50 for the Buccaneers is players McKenzie Hauk in a tie for 33rd place and Aliezah Robinson in a tie for 50th place.
The contest wrapped up on Wednesday, Sept. 23, for the Buccaneers as Golfweek comes to an end.
