The ETSU campus recreation intramural fall season is well underway. All softball league play has begun and the ultimate Frisbee tournament began Sunday at 4 p.m.
“Everything has been going well,” said Chris Meister, intramural sports coordinator. “Unfortunately a couple of teams have forfeited out of the softball league, but most of them paid the re-entry fee, so there haven’t been many games taken away from the players on the other teams.”
The Frisbee league in its return to the intramural schedule has also been a success. “We have had 10 teams participating in the Frisbee league,” said Adam Knobloch, intramural sports graduate assistant. “The interest level in Frisbee prompted us to offer the league and I’m glad it has been a success. We will likely continue offering Frisbee next year based on the participation level.”
Participation in the Frisbee league has been solid. “We have more participants consistently in the Frisbee league than in any other sport we do here, I think,” Kyle McShan, intramural official said. “There hasn’t been a single forfeit and the sportsmanship level has been impressive thus far.”
Players have enjoyed participating in the league. “I’m just glad we got a chance to have a league for Frisbee,” said Pete Buhls, a member of the Frisbee team E-Z Win. “Really my only wish is that we could get a few more games and that the league could last longer, but I will take what I can get. My team and I are just happy to get to play.”
The Frisbee tournament concluded with the championship game Tuesday night. Softball playoffs will begin Sunday, Sept. 25. Sign ups for the tennis tournament are now available.
Rosters for flag football are now available in the CPA. For more information call Campus Recreation at 439-7980.
