Dear Editor,
Since the whole “Ludacrisis” began, I am beginning to see more and more flaws with the way this whole event was planned. First, I think it would be within SGA’s best interest to evaluate the whole “voting” process. So most folks I have talked to said they never even got an e-mail regarding voting and that I was the only one they knew of who even got the e-mail.
Although when I answered the e-mail, I got a rude e-mail back with a hundred FYI’s strategically placed throughout it. Who would want to vote when all you say is “anything but rap …” and get a reply that literally made you wish you hadn’t bothered because “FYI – Rap is not No. 1 the list anyway. And FYI – if we didn’t care what you thought, then why would we e-mail you?”
Well obviously someone didn’t care about a couple thousand students. Next, to ensure that ALL students could have some sort of vote, SGA may think about asking the initial “what band do you want to see” question at the start of spring, but then doing a follow-up at the end that has an actual ballot with artists who agreed they could do the show and e-mail that to everyone. This would give someone two opportunities to vote and you wouldn’t have to deal with the whiny, “I didn’t get the e-mail” excuse. Hey SGA, You guys have been great through all of this good luck next year!
