On Friday, Feb. 11, Buctainment held a tie-dye event for students to release stress through creativity.

The event was held in the Cave in the D.P. Culp Student Center, starting at 7 p.m. and ending at 9:30 p.m. Volunteers and staff members of Buctainment socialized with and helped students with tie-dying.

“Tie-dye does well, it’s really fun and it’s a nice break from going to classes and studying. The first couple of weeks of school we like to get people to interact and socialize with one another to have a good time,” said Marli Martin, a member of and volunteer for Buctainment.

Martin expressed her excitement for upcoming events that will allow students to be creative and interactive with one another.

“Once every month, we are holding a karaoke event, and we do family feud, so there are a few exciting events coming up.”

Layne Maddox, an ETSU student, participated in tie-dying. They explained that they saw the email and decided why not try it out.

“I had fun,” said Maddox. “I haven’t tie-dyed in years.”

Morgan Colley, Special Events Chair and Staff Programmer for Buctainment, believes that it’s good to get involved with events such as these on campus.

“You get to meet new people,” said Colley. “Being involved on campus is something really good because you get to not only meet new people, but you get out of your dorm and this typical routine of studying and going to classes.”

Another creative, exciting event students should be looking forward to is Henna Tattooing. This will take place every month, and the next one is on Tuesday, Feb. 22, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
