Patient Centered Practice (CPSC 3956) will be offered for the first time during the summer 2002 semester by the department of health related professions located at the Nave Center in Elizabethton.
Dr. Don Sample, department chair, explained that the course is designed for students majoring in allied health with a concentration in cardiopulmonary science (respiratory therapy). “This course will focus on development and assessment of therapist-driven protocols,” he said.
Therapist-driven protocols allow the therapist to make changes in patient therapy without always having to contact the patient’s doctor for treatment orders or ventilator changes.
CPSC 3956 will be offered during first summer session of 2002 on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 2-4 p.m. Dr. Doug Masini will be teaching the course, which will be offered at the Nave Center.
