Dear Editor,
I found the Feb. 10 article on the lack of handicapped parking very informative. I have a disabled parking pass that I use and have noticed how hard it can be to find a spot.
I suffer from asthma. I am pregnant and cannot take my usual daily medications, so I need to use the pass when I have classes in Rogers-Stout.
This is because people find the need to stand right outside the doors in the smoke-free area to smoke, instead of just finishing their cigarettes to the side of the entrance.
I approached the building coordinator about this last semester, nothing has been done to enforce policy that ETSU already has in place.
Another parking issue is the lack of drop-off parking for the on-campus daycare. While parking is allotted in the alley behind Warf-Pickel for the daycare, it is often filled with the cars of broadcast students and others.
I wonder if they know how this inconveniences me and other parents of small children who need this parking which is allotted to us.
Another fact is that there are over half of the 150 spaces reserved for people using the Center for Physical Activity, while no spaces are reserved for academic centers like the library.
