Dear Editor,
I hereby formally disown Cheravu as being my American sister.
I’m not going to go off on someone’s narcissistic rampage putting you or anyone else down but I will make a stand for my country and endure with the good the bad things that occur here-in.
Pessimists will always have their place in our collective forgotten subconscious because it’s easy to be negative and destroy the beauty that we see around us. But the only positive truly heroic and truly non-self serving will be remembered as patriots.
It sounds like you’ve become seriously jaded and that you need to take a moment to reflect on what it means to be an American.
When you say that America is the global bully willing to kill for cheap gas and that we’ll “have to give up our throne of being the prevailing nation” you obviously think that we should sit by idly and watch as the world destroys itself around us. You’re obviously careless of the numerous people that suffer and die under Hussein’s rule and those who are threatened by his mindless need to destroy Israel.
You don’t realize that rogue nations like Iraq support global terrorism aimed at the United States and any other democratic country whose capitalist ideals put doubt in the face of tyranny.
You say that American is motivated only by “imperialism, capitalism and authoritarianism.”
Have you forgotten the billions of dollars we use to aid other countries, the numerous loans we have forgiven because other countries couldn’t repay them or the tireless efforts of our diplomats to maintain peace worldwide?
Lastly, you need to realize that if you printed your mindless drivel in just about any other country you would either be publicly executed or locked up in prison only to be forgotten.
You take your freedoms for granted and wouldn’t know what to do if you didn’t have anyone else to blame and ridicule for the bad things you see in this country. Wake up.
