Four instant scratch-off games made their debut Tuesday morning as the long-awaited Tennessee Lottery began at 12:01 a.m. across the state.
The four games – Tennessee Millionaire, Lucky 7s, Tennessee Treasures and $100,000 Jackpot – have prizes ranging from a free ticket to $1 million.
Tennessee Millionaire costs $1 to play with a maximum instant prize of $1,000. If you match three dollar amounts on the card, you could win up to $1,000. If you scratch off and find the word “entry” three times, you are eligible for the grand prize drawings. There are three drawings held at different times. Nine possible prizes in the grand prize drawing include one of three $1 million prizes, three $25,000 prizes and three $10,000 prizes. Odds of winning Tennessee millionaire are 1-4.
Lucky 7s, a Tic-Tac-Toe-style game, costs $1 to play with a top prize of $7,000. If you find three sevens in a row, you get the prize shown in the prize box. The odds of winning Lucky 7s are 1-4.
Tennessee Treasures costs $2 to play with a maximum instant prize of $25,000. If you match any of your numbers with the winning numbers at the top of the card, you get the amount next to that number.
If you get a star symbol, you instantly win all 10 prizes. The odds of winning Tennessee Treasures are 1-4.
$100,000 Jackpot costs $5 to play with a top prize of $100,000. If you match any of your numbers to the card’s winning numbers, you win the prize for that number. If you scratch off a star symbol, you instantly win the prize shown for that symbol. If you scratch off a bill symbol, you instantly win all 15 prizes shown. The odds of winning $100,000 Jackpot are 1-3.
If you are holding a winning ticket with a prize less than $600, just simply take the ticket to the retailer you purchased it from and collect your winnings. But if you’re lucky enough to win $600 or more, you will need to claim your prize at any of the four Tennessee Lottery district offices, the Tennessee Lottery headquarters in Nashville or by mail.
Computerized games, where players pick numbers before the televised drawings, are set to begin in March.
There are more than 3,500 retailers who are selling the new scratch-off tickets in Tennessee. Over 50 of those retailers are in Johnson City. Some area retailers include Reel-to-Reel Theatre, Cat’s Music, Goodwill, the Food City on State of Franklin Road and on South Roan Street and the Sunoco on West Walnut Street.
