Dear Editor,
As a recent graduate from ETSU, I still feel very connected to the community and interested in the happenings on campus. That, and my new job doesn’t allow me the freedom to express my views in the manner befitting a “right-leaning, loose cannon” such as myself.
I see Dean Burress is still attending ETSU. He must be going for one of those 16-year political science degrees. Too bad he isn’t bothering to open his mind and become the progressive he purports to be.
Yes, Burress, I too claim Fox News as my most watched news source – as do millions of other people. I used to watch CBS, stomaching what I feel is Dan Rather’s obvious bent because I believe in gathering all of the facts I can before arriving at an opinion.
However, after the latest debacle, I can no longer support the news division of that network (I’m still watching CSI, though.) And to me, the obviousness of collaboration between the forging party and the Kerry campaign is Clintonesque (or, if you prefer, Nixonesque) and gut-wrenching. Too bad you stand behind the “substance” of a story, instead of being appalled at the grossly negligent manner of reporting it. Of course, it’s easier to make counter-accusations and puff rhetoric than it is to engage in real, substantive discussion. That’s why I enjoy it so much.
Bush by a landslide in ’04!
