There was little activity in the last SGA meeting of the Fall 2004 semester.
The SGA Senate passed a resolution stating that the SGA is committed to supporting the ongoing effort in making ETSU a campus of promise.
The resolution is a show of support for ETSU’s continuing efforts to work with America’s Promise in this region. America’s Promise is an organization dedicated to serving youth in the community through tutoring and community service. Sen. Amber Napier sponsored the resolution.
The SGA also reminded students of Faith and Family Night to be held Friday night in the mini dome. The night will begin with the basketball game against Tennessee Tech at 7 p.m. Following the basketball game, students will be allowed onto the basketball court to for a concert by Building 429.
The SGA is also planning a cheer and chant completion called the Buc Call for the Jan. 21 game against Appalachian State.
Student organizations can create their own chants and cheers, and the student section will determine the winner. The winners will receive a $500 prize and a meal cooked up by Chef Rick.
SGA President Ethan Flynn said he would send information to the student body about registration for the Buc Call event.
The deadline for organizations to apply for 606 funding in the spring’s first funding session is Jan. 21.
