Dear Editor,
I recently took an exit exam in the fourth-floor testing center of Warf-Pickel Hall, and I have some complaints.
First, all that separates the testing center from the neighboring classroom is a partition, which offers no peace whatsoever from the voices of instructors and students on the other side.
Second, while taking the exam, at least two people were in and out of the room several times, opening and closing a filing cabinet.
Third, the desks in the room are the size of the desks in a second-grade classroom, which is very uncomfortable.
Plus, they are so close together and the room is so small that if the room had been full, I would have been bumping elbows with the other people taking the test.
It seems to me that with increasing tuition practically every year, ETSU could make a “testing center” more comfortable for students.
Since exit exams are a requirement to graduate and many students have to take a departmental exam plus a university exam, I think it should be a priority to improve conditions.
I’m sure future students would appreciate an improvement.
