With its flag-football league taking two weeks off for Fall Break and Homecoming, Campus Recreation is looking to other events for students.
“We typically shut down our leagues for Homecoming so we don’t compete with their activities,” Intramural Sports Coordinator Chris Meister said. “It is easier to schedule a couple of one-day events so we can work around the Homecoming schedule.”
Campus Recreation’s annual Homecoming Road Race was held on Sunday and saw a large turnout according to Campus Recreation Director Jon Walker. “We had around 250 participants, he said. That is a very good turn-out for us.”
Campus Recreation will be holding its first ever Pro Bowl on Tuesday night. The Pro Bowl will be four flag-football all-star games. “We are having one game for each division. All 67 flag-football teams will be represented,” Meister said.
The Pro Bowl will begin at 6 p.m. with the women’s game. All games will be held on the CPA’s Back Yard.
Another event this week that is open to all ETSU students is the 3-on-3 basketball tournament. Rosters are now available at the CPA for the 3-on-3 tournament and the registration deadline is Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
Games will be played Friday from 5:30 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon at the CPA. The championship games will be played in between the women’s and men’s basketball games on Saturday and are scheduled for 3 p.m. at the Mini-Dome.
