I was intrigued to hear some of the most interesting news I’ve ever heard about the NFL just this week.I do believe the league has emasculated its players by not allowing them to actually hit each other in a sport that is known for some of the dumbest and fastest men on the face of the planet running face first into each other.

The argument can be made about legal or illegal hits, but I really don’t care to debate that aspect of the game.

So I am on the side of this argument that is for better helmets and harder hits as opposed to softer hits and more educated human beings playing a game that involves a bunch of grown children getting paid a king’s ransom.

It also has nothing to do with Terrell Owens recently joining the 150 receiving touchdowns club.

Watching T.O. score that touchdown made me remember all of the fun times viewers have had watching him grow up over the years – from his infamous touchdown celebrations to his reality show.

It does have something to do with the fact that the Dallas Cowboys are possibly the worst waste of space known to mankind.

I do not know how “America’s” team has become as dry and as bland as the majority of land that its team’s state sits on.

They also coached up Jamarcus Russell to be the No. 1 pick in the NFL draft.

Yes Al Davis, it is completely appropriate to draft a man who has the ability to throw a pass from his knees for 50 yards but cannot underhand toss a ball to save his life.

Have we allowed the sports world to get to a point where an athlete’s playing ability doesn’t even matter?

The only thing that matters is that the athlete has found a new way to turn a conversation piece into a centerpiece because of how utterly ridiculous their 15-yard catch-and-run that resulted in the majority of their yards for the game looked in high definition.

We should take time to rethink what matters to us as sports fanatic. We should think about what certain ridiculous changes can mean for the future of the sports we love so much.
